History

Japan was once connected to the continental-island of Pangea - before Tammiel caused the earthquake that fractured the ground. The lands that are now East and West Korea, Northern Russia and Japan were all one nation, but after the catastrophe the Island of Japan emancipated itself. The Japanese enjoyed their anonymity - having had the luxury of dealing with the Pangeans in commerce without having to get entangled in any of their trivial affairs - which was very fortunate for Japan because it had enough internal strife of its own between the Mongolians and The House of Tanaka which has been in power for nearly eleven centuries; every coup attempt in their history has been by the Chinese Mongolians.
